During Open House Chicago, over 100 sites across the city open their doors to the public to allow them to discover the amazing architecture the city has to offer. With so many sites across the entire city, the Architecture Center was in need of an easy way for attendees to navigate the event on their phone.
Developed as a progressive web app, the Open House Chicago app gives attendees an easy way to discover sites and events, save favorites, follow pre-made routes, or create and share custom itineraries.
Having volunteered for Open House since 2016 not only gave me insight in shaping the UI, but it was a rare opportunity to share something directly to help visitors from all over take advantage of the app's features.
